Hello everyone, and since we just completed the pre season, we, the MKU staff, wants to know how everyone enjoyed the current meta. Are 5v5 still preffered, any rules people didn't like? Stuff like that would be excelent to get some feedback about.

so ye, just consider this a competetive meta thread, but please keep it somewhat civil!

6v6 is better but a lot of teams can't support this every weeks

(we tried to 6v6 svc & mp but they weren't able to)

5v5 boring tbh. Played both sizes enough to say that 6v6 is much more better / enjoyable to play

6v6 is more enjoyable actually, played some wars with both sizes and the 6v6 were always more fun, more chaotic. I love that and it defines MK for me, 5v5 is ok, but some races are really feeling boring sometimes, nothing happens at all. 6v6 I can't say that. The only downside 6v6 may has is the fact that it makes it harder for some clans to pull secondary teams (but thats only interesting for ARC and DR I think so far), but thats really it. I'm all in to switch it back to the MKU MK8 Style (6v6 standard, 5v5 if both teams agree)

6v6s are better but I'd rather keep the meta as 5v5s for the communities sake with the option of doing 6v6s (like it already is)

Although its not a direct correlation, 5v5s allows newer teams participate and survive.
For those teams with a lot of active players, creating a second team is an option.

(5v5 standard, 6v6 if both teams agree) I think I can agree with this the most. Teams that can support 6 players can 6v6 (if they want) and teams that don't like or can't get 5 players in time can just 5v5.

Well, I think that 5vs5 is better because some teams cant get 6v6 sunday after sunday. Anyway if both teams agree to play 6v6 its also fine but I dont think it is a good idea to impose 6v6 by default.

I don't have too much of a preference on war size in actual matches. It's all MK at the end of the day, I like both honestly. What concerns me mainly is that it's not going to be healthy for the community, especially in the long run, if we enforce 6v6 across the whole league. We have over 40 potential teams on the confirmation thread right now. That's nearly up to the size WL has, which has been clearly the more active league in 2016. This has been acheived without subclans also. Looking at the poll results, I think changing it for every division would be a very dangerous move to the community at large, especially after summer when the initial hype for the game wears off.

I think it would be a little more reasonable to talk 6v6 for the higher divisions, but I can say for sure itll almost certainly result in something as boring as 2016s MK8 community, where results were extremely stagnant, nobody could beat the top 3 teams, and Division 1 had 150+ point margins more often than it had matches within 100 points. Getting 5 players who are going to be D1 ready is very difficult already, 6 is incredibly hard though. Essentially what Im saying is that the skill gap will likely make results threads have no variance whatsoever. It'll likely become this way with 5v5s too, but this would speed up the process for sure. May write more thoughts later

Now instead of 3 teams dominating its gonna be a single one :feelsbadman:

5v5s would greatly decrease the chances of svc ever getting beat, because they don't have a single weak player in that format. 6v6 would force them to use someone who's garbage like me for example

If you want variance, mku staff should just ban svc cuz its gonna be resident, especially if 5v5s.

5v5 is the perfect format in my opinion, 6v6 has way too many items rolling around and it's laggy af.

Most of the clans can't handle 6v6 without hav1ng to come up with a bad line-up anyway, and honestly there's nobody to recruit in this community. (except when another clan dies ofc...) Trying to fill a line-up every week doesn't feel competitive to me.

5v5s are way easier for the better team to dominate than 6v6s, because it's so hard to break up group runs in 5v5 (that's why it's boring btw.) 6v6s are much more reliant on item strategy, where as 5v5 you cant play the item strategy game at all cause you don't get shit to catch up.

the "5v5 meta" was honestly super boring and if it continues it'll kill the motivation for a lot of us. i'm super thankful to the teams who played 6v6 vs us in the pre-season (even zealous despite xander ditching us so we 5v5d them anyway) cause we were actually able to have fun. this game needs 6v6 to survive, teams can recruit if they fall short on members. it's much better for the long term health of the game.

btw i support banning svc from the league

Don't ban svc or any top team just because they are good. svc worked hard to get to the top so they deserve to dominate (if they can). Don't turn into a bunch of socialists, guys...

I don't really care 5v5/6v6 because it's the same shit to me. Personally I know my team won't be able to do a 6v6 format given we have exactly 6 people that can play MKU, one that won't be around most weeks.

If you want "The Highest Competition" then you can do your 6v6 meta but you're going to be losing so many teams over time it will become mk8 again

Easy for you to say, everyone only dreams of getting into svc /s

The pool has grown stagnant. We expected community growth and we got it, now we're stinted again. It's not as easy as you might think.

I support either format, I agree with Rookie that the lower teams would lean more towards 5v5 because their careers aren't set in stone like svc (not trying to pick on svc at all here) for example. I wouldn't be against making it division dependant if both sides get what they want in the end. It might also make a new goal to reach as well.

Actually I don't enjoy the current meta because people only use wiggler and play 150 and don't touch battle at all and it's depressing

My honest Opinion I personally despise 6vs6 because of 1 item reds it seems its like a 50% increase in damn reds
    thats just me personally.

As for the big picture wise i dont see an issue with 6vs6 being the standard but like some of people have said i really don't think for longetivity 6vs6 is gonna hold,
since the start of mku tourney most of the activity i have in seen in the war chats is hands down 5vs5 and if both can 6vs6 cool if not 5vs5 are played
so i think 5vs5 with the option of 6vs6 if both clans can should be meta.

Also we srsly need more battle like srsly

I don't really have an opinion for 5v5 vs 6v6 as I haven't played any 6v6's yet, however I can agree that 5v5's are boring, with a lack of action and momentum shifts.

My team would struggle to pull 6 players each week though, during the swiss tournament we were struggling to even get 5 so I can't say we'll be as stable of a team if default was 6v6, I'm sure that goes for some other teams too. I think the best compromise, which I've already seen suggested and has already been in place, is to leave 5v5 default but make 6v6 something both teams can agree on. I think this works best for everyone, going into Season 1

I enjoy both formats personally. So I'd rather want what helps the most teams be able to play (5v5). I wouldn't be mad if 6v6 was the meta though.
